| What's New
We are offering several new hybrids for the 2011planting season. Four conventional, two GT (glyphosate tolerant), one Liberty Link® (glufosinate tolerant), two Liberty Link® Corn Borer (glufosinate & corn borer) and one Quad stack GT3000 (glyphosate, glufosinate tolerant plus corn borer and root worm resistance. The demand for conventional hybrids continues to be very strong. Although many seed companies have discontinued the sale of conventional hybrids, you can be sure that we have no intention to stop the production of conventional hybrids because we know that these hybrids can and will yield very comparable to the traited counter part. As you can see by the hybrid comparison chart, many of the conventional and traited hybrids have similar genetics. In the last few years the supply of conventional herbicides has improved allowing for better weed control. Some of these herbicides are helpful in the control of glyphosate resistant weeds. However, if traits are needed, they do offer good value and may save you the added time and expense of handling additional chemicals. Again, we stress the importance of checking hybrid variety numbers, bags, bag tags and labels, making sure the seed product is compatible with your cropping and spraying plans. Three new soybean varieties, two Roundup Ready® and oneconventional variety will be available. We will be without the services of Orlin Wethal who passed away suddenly this past spring. Orlin was a good man with many years of seed sales experience and had a great relationship with many farmers. He will be missed. |
